Trump Accuses Democratic Leadership of Racism Against Poles

President Trump made headlines over the past few days after venturing to Iraq to visit U.S. troops and potentially endangering Seal Team 5 in the process. Following his return, Trump’s erratic behavior continued to heat up.

Shortly after his visit to Al-Asad Air Base, Donald Trump leveled blistering charges of alleged racism displayed by Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi. In the middle of a campaign rally the following day, the president claimed the Democratic leaders have made repeated racist comments against Polish Trump supporters around the world.

Racism claim at the Show Me Center

Trump boarded Marine One and made his way to Cape Girardeau, Missouri for a rally at the Show Me Center on Friday evening. Speaking in typical sing-song stream-of-consciousness style in front of over 6,000 people, the president brought the issue of racism up halfway through his speech.

“It’s a disgrace,” barked Trump to the raucous crowd as he paced around the stage. “Chuck Schumer has gone out of his way to call my Poles very bad — those are his exact words, folks — and that they are at an ‘all-time low’. He’s also called them pathetic”. He mopped his brown and adjusted his signature red “Make America Great Again” hat. “We’re talking about a nation of 38 million people, all of them fans of Donald Trump. Millions more more living and working in the United States.” He turned his palms up, as if perplexed, “And this is the respect they get from the Democrats?”

He paused for effect. “And what about Nancy Pelosi?” asked Trump, eliciting a chorus of boos. “She’s called my Poles ‘weak’, ‘down’ and ‘a joke’. What the hell is all that about?” To illustrate his point, the president began marching around the stage like a soldier, to the delight of the cheering crowd. “Now I’m hearing that Nancy thinks in a contest against me, she’d be leading the Poles! Give me a break! Doesn’t she understand that Polacks deserve dignity and respect and probably aren’t going to get in line and march like a bunch of Germans?”

Raising his fist high overhead, he bellowed, “This is America, not California! We don’t treat our second-class citizens like that!”

Trump’s wall

Trump then brought up the battle over the his promised border wall. “The Democrats are racists and a caravan of criminal Mexicans is climbing the fences right now to get you and your family and your dog. We need a big, beautiful slatted fence and the Democrats must end this government shutdown and give us the $5 billion we desperately need for border security!”

Egged on by the president, the crowd went nuts and began chanting, “Build that slatted fence! Build that slatted fence!”

Fox News interview

In an exclusive interview the next day with Sean Hannity of the non-partisan Fox News, President Trump called the Democrats “a bunch of hypocrites” and vowed to exact revenge. “They make racist statements about my Poles but get on my case for you know, treason and a bunch of other stuff. As President I will not allow that to stand, that I can tell you.”

Asked by Hannity to elaborate, Trump said, “Let’s just say we’ll be doing a little ‘editing’ of that 231 year-old yellowing document everyone worships as if it were The Art of the Deal or something. It’s clear that Chuck and Nancy believe the Constitution gives them the right to say whatever they want, whenever they want. Well, we’re going to put a stop to that, believe me.”

Ticking them off on his fingers, the president listed the amendments he doesn’t agree with. “A whole bunch of them are unconstitutional,” he said. “You’re going to get to keep your second amendment, but a bunch of the others are going to have to go.” His brow furrowed. “Especially the one about women voting. Women, you know, never really know who to vote for anyway.”

Trump ended the interview by reminding Hannity and his viewers that there was no collusion or obstruction and that the Special Counsel’s investigation was a witch hunt.
